I have just re-read this and it used to be true, now some of it isn't. Steve has spent most of his working life in the office furniture business. His knowledge and contacts are immense. If you need help with a particular fitout, Steve is the one who can help. Steve is our resident new furniture guru and maintains our new stock, looks after custom made orders, keeps manufacturers on their toes and sources new products.
Usually found in the showroom, Steve is another all rounder who has been known to measure, quote, sell, deliver and assemble furniture on site. If you need to trade in some old furniture, Steve can give you a price on that too. Paul Fowlds has had many years experience in new and used office furniture. He is a valuable all rounder responsible for stock control, warehouse management, general maintenance and showroom display. Not content with that, Paul can also be found under a desk, up a ladder, loading a truck, cleaning a filing cabinet, pricing stock, serving customers, on the phone or drinking coffee. If you have furniture to sell, Paul can give you a quote and arrange for pick up if the quote is accepted. Not one to slow down after hours, Paul and his mate Paul like to see how far they can tempt fate in an offshore power boat called "Shifty". They travel to various parts of the country competing with other speed freaks and they must do it well to win all races in the series and take the Australian Class 3/4 Championship in 2003 and again in 2004, 2005 and 2006. David looks after our used furniture showroom and storage facility at 6 Pinter Drive Southport. David has had many years in the office furniture business as a buyer, auctioneer and general sales. David is the man to see for all your used furniture requirements except for weekends when he would rather play golf. Shaun spends most of his working days driving around the country side picking up furniture on order from manufacturers and suppliers for the showroom or for delivery to customers. Always happy, always cheerful he is an asset to the team. After hours, he likes to play in a band. General warehouse duties including, assembly, cleaning, fixing, deliveries and on site fit outs. Damon has just returned to us after a period away doing other things. He is well respected and it's good to have him back. The other half our our AAA delivery team. Haydn rides shotgun on the delivery truck and hasn't yet caught on that Wade gives him the heavy end when carrying furniture around. Our delivery team gets lots of praise and go out of their way to ensure you are happy with your purchase. Look out for Sean next time you are in. Wade is our delivery driver extrordinaire. He is the man on the other end of the heavy desk you bought. He will make sure it is delivered in the same condition it was when you bought it, he will ask you where you want it and make sure it is set up the way it should be before he leaves. He loves heavy traffic, speed bumps, blocked loading zones, clearways and rude drivers. Has been known to do the impossible but some customers insist on miracles and he is not quite up to speed on these, yet. David Martin is another member of the team who has considerable experience in the office furniture industry. If you need help with a single item of used furniture or a complete fit out for your new office, Dave will be able to help. If he gives you a tip on office furniture, take it. On the other hand, if he gives you a tip on which 4 legged beast should win on Saturday, be careful, his track record in tipping winners is not up to scratch. Bookkeeper extrordinaire. Keeps track of the numbers and puts them in clever little rows and columns with fancy headings. Can add, subtract, divide and multiply and quite often gets the right answer. Knows how to panic when everything is under control, knows how to relax when there are deadlines to meet and generally keeps a record of where we have been and how we got there. Carl is an enthusiastic member of the sales team. Usually found on the showroom floor (often asleep under a desk), he will help you select the furniture you need and see it through to delivery. Very helpful, very friendly and very keen to ensure you get what you want. Trevor makes it happen in the warehouse. He is always able to find a spot for the latest load of furniture and keeps stock moving onto the showroom floor and into the truck for delivery. A valuable member of the team, Trevor can also be found driving the backup delivery truck, loading and unloading trucks, cleaning, fixing, assembling and generally doing whatever needs to be done.
